Back in the GOOD 'OLE USA!

I've just gotten internet back in the house, and I've been so excited to post on the blog! I haven't been able to download any recent pics, but wanted to update everyone on what's going on in our lives.

On May 18th, Catherine and I flew out of Mumbai and embarked on the 16-hour journey to Newark. People have asked me how the flight was, and to be honest, I think I've blocked it from my memory! It could not have been THAT bad, right?!? Anyway, we were spared with a very short layover in Newark and landed in Houston on the morning of May 19th. I cannot tell you how FREAKING happy I was to be back in the GOOD 'OLE USA! It was a sunny day and I could not believe how fresh the air smelled, how quiet the traffic was, and how clean the ground was! I have been in heaven ever since. Mike has remained in India, and will be home in late June for a few weeks.

We've been back for about 12 days now and we've been on the go-go-go! I tell you what, we LOVE our lives here in Houston! We have a GREAT house, a GREAT neighborhood, GREAT town, but best of all, GREAT friends. Everyone has welcomed us back with open arms and excitement and I'm so grateful and happy.

Little Bump is growing by leaps and bounds (thanks to all the GOOD FOOD I've been consuming!). He is now 4.5 pounds and still quite the mover. I'm seeing the doctor every week now, and if things continue to go as well as they have, we are still scheduled for a June 29th arrival. Only 4 weeks away!

Catherine is thoroughly enjoying the summer fun, and is already a little brown girl from all the outdoor time!

I'm humbled to hear how many people have been following our blog- and I'm so happy to hear that I've kept ya'll entertained (hahah!) over the past few months. With Little Bump's upcoming arrival and our early-August return to India, I hope you continue to check-up on us, and keep in touch!

0-and-a-butt days!

All my West Point buddies will get that title! That means that TODAY IS THE DAY!

Catherine and I will board the airplane bound for Newark tonight at 11 pm, endure a 16 hour flight, hang out in Newark for 3 hours, then get on another plane and sit for another 4 hours. But then we will be HOME!

I will probably be offline for about a week as we coordinate to get our internet re-established. But I do hope to continue updating this blog throughout the summer, so keep checking back!

An honest moment

Tomorrow, I will be 31 weeks pregnant. This is the same week our 2nd child, 1st son, JohnThomas died. I'm terrified.

I have been thinking about JohnThomas so much lately that it's become a distraction. I am trying to be so positive with this pregnancy, but I'll be honest- I'm worried now.

Please keep us in your prayers as we navigate the next 6 weeks- both physically and emotionally.

And please remember JohnThomas, who was born August 16, 2007. Bless him, and may he watch over his baby brother.

Happy 5th Anniversary- to US!

Mike and I celebrate our 5th Anniversary today! Time flies when you're having fun!

Our Goa getaway!

We took the plunge and headed down to Goa for a 5-day, 4 night excursion. Our first family vacation EVER. It was pure heaven, and now that Mommy is happy, everyone is happy! :)
We will definitely return on an annual basis- it's a mere 50 minutes by air and quite the escape from crazy Mumbai!



Catherine and I will fly out on May 18th, arrive in Houston May 19th. Can't wait!

Little Bump is still growing (and moving so much he keeps me awake at night!) and all is looking good. Looks like June 29th is still a go- please keep us in your prayers as we get through these last 6+ weeks. Getting a little nervous, but trying to remain positive.

Happy Birthday Mike!

Mike is celebrating his 39th Birthday this year! Of course, he is still claiming to be not a day older than 29....I've advised that he may want to up that to 33 or so...hahah!
Catherine and I baked a chocolate-on-chocolate cake (his favorite!) to celebrate! It was delicious, and the birthday boy even went back for a 2nd piece later that night! :)

Our Gujarati girl!

Mike's co-worker got this ADORABLE outfit for Catherine in Amhedabad....is she not the cutest little Gujarati girl you've ever seen?

Our first trip away from Mumbai!

Mike had a business conference in Amhedabad (a city in the State of Gujarat), so we thought we'd join him for a 3-day weekend prior. This was our first trip outside of Mumbai, and wow, am I glad we took it! It proved to me that there is a lot more to India than what I'd seen, and we truly enjoyed seeing some great sights and tasting some great food! Check out our pictures!


Our next trip- to the beaches of Goa! We are very excited! This trip will mark Mike's (gasp!!) 39th Bday (May 6th), Mother's Day (May 10th) and our 5th wedding anniversary (May 15th) and my 35th Bday (June 8th). It's a busy time of year for us! :)

Catherine and I will be returning to the U.S. in a mere 2 weeks! We're counting down the days- and we CANNOT WAIT!
