Weather update

After quite a few dry weeks, it suddenly started raining yesterday....apparently, a cyclone is 420 km (250 miles) off the coast of Mumbai- a cyclone warning has already been published.
What is a cyclone? It's very similar to a tropical storm, with lots of rain and wind.
We are in northern Mumbai, in a district called Powai, so we should be safe. There may be a bit flooding, but I'm more concerned about the south. This could prove to be disastrous for many, many people. Waves are already crashing against the seawall down south.
We are laying low, going along our daily routines, but if the rains get any heavier, I'll hold Cate out of school if only to avoid the commute. Traffic is sure to go from very bad to worse.
The cyclone is said to make landfall within the next 48 hours- place to be determined.
I'll keep you posted.

Our Ladybug is FOUR!

Catherine turned 4 on Oct 24th- unbelievable. It's shocking to think that it's already been 4 years since she instantly made our lives better, more fun, full of love- making her grand entrance at 9 lbs, 3 oz, 21 inches long!

She declared several weeks ago that she wanted a "girls-only princess party". Uh, let me think about that.....OK!!! To be honest, she ended up changing her mind 2 days before the party, but by then I felt it was too late to make any changes. It was a preeeety quiet party, with only 6 girls (and 2 older sisters who arrived a bit later), but it was fun! I planned several activities, including "Pin the Crown on the Princess", a Princess coloring/glitter-glue station, a Fashion Show and a Royal Salon- which was by far the biggest hit.

Catherine was also able to take cupcakes into her class and share her big day with all 15 kids in her class. She picked chocolate cake with pink (strawberry) frosting- because pink is for girls. All in all, it was about a week-long celebration, with many princess dresses making their debut!

Our Catie-Bug the Ladybug (aka Jellybean, Babydoll, Stinkerbug, Lovebug) is quite the little lady now- she loves to wear dresses and look pretty. She is sensitive, talkative, polite and goofy. She insists that she is a big girl now and has really become quite social lately.

We are very proud of the person our little girl is becoming!

Singapore Trip

We took advantage of being on this side of the world, and took a week-long trip to Singapore. What a GREAT place! We were so impressed by how clean and neat and organized and modern it was, and decided that we'd definitely like to return if we can squeeze it in.

The shopping was amazing, the food was wonderful, the people were super-friendly and the scenery was to die for!

Here are pics from our trip, with descriptions:
