Happy Father's Day!

Mike is getting the BEST Father's Day gift EVER. Our little boy will be delivered tomorrow, June 21, 2009! We are very, very, very excited to meet him!

We went over to the hospital today, had the ultrasound done, and my fluid levels had actually stayed the same, measuring a 7, which is in the 5th percentile (average fluid level for a 36 weeker is 14). Our doctor gave us the choice to deliver tomorrow at 36 weeks, or wait as long as Wednesday.

I've been taken off my blood thinners in preparation for the c-section surgery, and Mike noted that the longer we wait, the greater the chance of a blood clot.

We agonized over our decision for almost 2 hours, and finally concluded that we had to choose between the lesser of 2 evils- immature lungs, or the chance of another stillbirth. We hope that immature lungs can be treated- even if he is in the NICU for a few days, the consequences of this are less extreme (and less devastating) than losing another child.

So we will report to the hospital at 6 am tomorrow, and we are scheduled for a 9 am c-section. I have pangs of anxiousness, but I have faith that everything will be all right- this baby boy has been fighting from the beginning, and has been strong and healthy from the start.

Tomorrow we will be a family of FOUR! Happy Father's Day, babe! :) I love you!
